This is more of a minor irritant than a problem - Unlike SILO not working and being unable to boot of my HDD.
I've noticed that my login prompt is no login displaying the domain name after the host name. I haven't changed /etc/issue and /etc/resolv.conf is displaying the domain name as specified on my DHCP server.
Any suggestions? Interestingly the file date is today's date....

athena etc # ls -l issue
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 30 Jan 30 10:34 issue
This is \n.\O (\s \m \r) \t

Look at /etc/conf.d/domainname to see whether DNSDOMAIN is set from DHCP or overridden by the value defined in that file. If it appears to be correct, check the output of hostname -d
As a side note, I understand that /etc/hostname and /etc/domainname are depricated and if you have them, they should be removed. (Hostname is now set in /etc/conf.d/hostname) |
