Hello,
I am having prom issues, nothing serious, but for some reason I can't set my default boot device.
Code: | ok setenv boot-device disk0
boot-device = disk0 |
But when I reset, it tries to boot from net:
Code: | Boot device: net File and args:
Using Onboard Transeiver - Link Up.
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet |
If I type:
It boots to gentoo and everything works fine.
Thank you in advance for your help.

PS--- There might be a possibility that this is just a very old, sick prom, however I seem to remember being able to set a default boot device on this machine before. |

See if diag-switch? is set to true. If it is, then check what diag-device is set to. My guess is it'll be set to net.
If all of the above is true, set diag-switch? to false and it should boot as you expect. |

Thanks for the help!
This is a very old system, there was no variable "diag-switch," however "diag-device" was set to net. When I set it to disk0, it autobooted to it. Thanks again, I don't know how that got changed.
