Is there anyway to get ALSA working properly with 2.5? The ALSA drivers included with 2.5 for the cs46xx devices (Herc GTXP) leave the bass portion of the sound out yet the newer drivers like the .92's off the ALSA website work fine.
I've gotten ALSA .92 to compile against 2.5.65-mm3 by copying irq_vectors.h to a directory in include but when I go to modprobe the modules it makes I get an incompatible module error. |

Hallo
I am having a strange problem with the mm3 kernel
I have installed the mm3 according to the how to in this thread
While rebooting I get the following error
.........
Remounting root filesystem read-only...
Checking root filesystem....
fsch 1.32
reiserfsk:Cannot open filesystem on "/dev/hda11"
Warning ...fsk.reiserfs for device /dev/hda11 exited with signal 6
Filesystem couldn't be fixed
.....
I have applied the devfs patch
With or without the patch no go...
Development source 2.5.65 is working good only my sound card is not working with that
Any idea how can this be fixed

try changing /etc/fstab to show the real devfs paths instead of /dev/hdXY |

hmm, i noticed when i tried passing elevator=cfq my system became very unstable... roughly after a couple minutes and just as i was checking to make sure my cd-burner was still visible in 'cdrecord --scanbus' it died: sat at a certain portion of the cdrecord output, then as i scrolled up the comp locked up (no errors that i could see or get to). Note that this happened outside of X, however, i would like to find a way to get more output from the error... if anyone can help with that. In the mean time i've been running fine for roughly an hour now with the elevator=cfq not being passed (so i'm pretty sure this is the problem). Any information would be greatly appreciated. |

2.5.67-mm3 is the first development kernel that actually managed to boot my system....
But now it runs like crap. Everyone says it should be so much faster but my desktop has never been any less responsive than now. Feels like I'm using a 486 or sumthing.
glxgears has dropped from 7100 to 6900 fps.. so it's in no way an improvement in performance _________________ Pentium 4 Prescott 3,2 GHz
