I'm trying to make a web server, but I need to have two ethernet cards in it (because it'll be a router too).
The problem is that any ethernet cards that I've scavenged from PC's don't seem to want to get an IP address. The three cards that I'm trying out are (and all of these also autoloaded with colplug on my gentoo system):
olicom oc-2325 (tlan)
olicom oc-2326 (tlan)
3com 3C905C Etherlink10/100 PCI (I forget the module, but it was autoloaded)
Anyway, the device comes up, and I can change the IP address and everything, but I can't use dhcpcd to get an IP address from my cable modem. And before you ask, no my cable modem isn't just being picky, because I can switch back and forth between my PC and my (future) server without shutting either of them down and I still get a good IP. _________________ Check out my...
