or, how can I skip the emrge of this package (which is marked as new) and let emerge go on with remaining packages?

Please post the output of `emerge info'. If you want to skip it: `emerge --resume --skipfirst`. You may run into problems if something depends on this though.

I'd recommend following the GCC 3.4 migration doc and trying to reproduce the error with that.

Atleast this is a bug that is easier to address now. Please file a bug on https://bugs.gentoo.org so it can get looked at. Thanks
