Ssmtp [solved]

...after googling and gentooing a bunch of forums, im ready for some embarrassing with something as small as sstmp.confs.

So here is my lame problem today:

I want to send my box logs to my isp email server and then i want to get it by using the isp pop service with my own mail client.
so i decided to use ssmtp.
* mail-mta/ssmtp
Latest version available: 2.61
Homepage: ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/s/ssmtp/
Description: Extremely simple MTA to get mail off the system to a Mailhub
License: GPL-2

I have read that it works for the job but i have a few doubts like:
1 - do i need any other program to work with it ? like mutt ?
2 - i think i cannot send local mail ( yes ? no ? )

i tried a couple tutorials that i read to make it work, but no result.
the ssmtp man page doesnt help either. ( ahhh i noticed that this is a debian tool.... now i remember why i left debian.... )

All i want to make this a very simple process of sending the logs and read them.
I also dont want to run a mail server.

on cd /etc/ssmtp i have :
revaliases ssmtp.conf

does anyone has a good tutorial about this ? or can provide some detailed help about it ?
i tried : http://www.gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_setup_a_home-server#sSMTP but either i failed something or something failed me.

Part B:
Now lets say that as an alternative i may want to send the mail or logs to a local folder. What do i need and can anyone provide a good tutorial ? (note .. im looking for a simple way of doing this )
cat the dead.letter is ... a dead task .. .
