have no idea what the problem is..
however its working again, i just stopped using gentoo-sources.
the reason i have high-mem is because i have 1gb of ram, and if i dont enable it, linux will only map 900mb of ram.. however when i do it in vanilla-sources it doesnt work, because it needs some patch that gentoo-sources has.. but gentoo-sources borks my tv
oh well, guess i can live w/ 900mb of ram
gentoo-sources config:
:: high mem
:: nvidia 1.0.4191-r1
vanilla-sources config:
:: no high mem
:: nvidia 1.0.4191-r1 _________________

I got it to work by using the XFree nv X-server. There seems to be some kind of memory management conflict between the Nvidia X-server and bttv. Starting the Nvidia X-server even once hoses bttv, so that I can't get it to work after that until I reboot. Didn't try disabling high-mem or moving to a different kernel source, so I can't speak for that.
Regardless, it seems that there are definitely some issues that need to be worked out. |

I suppose I should've specified which versions.
I'm using the nvidia-1.0.3123-r2 driver, and xfree 4.3.0-r1. |
