Quando o Gento está a iniciar aparece-me o seguinte ecrã:
...
:: Scanning for dm-mod...dm-mod loaded.
» Activating udev
» Detrermining root device...
!! The root block device is unspecified or not detected.
Please specify a device to boot, or "shell" for a shell...
boot() ::
O que tenho que fazer? Não estou a perceber o que ele quer, qual o meu erro e onde tenho que corrigir!!!

 esta usando o grub ou lilo???
se for grub veja se vc esta especificando a partição / (root) corretamente
exemplo:
# kernel em /dev/hda1 e partição root em /dev/hda3
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/kernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r10 root=/dev/hda3
agora se vc estiver usando o lilo eu não posso te ajudar, mas da uma recapitulada no gentoo handbook
