dhcpcd is the dhcp client daemon. It's a client that runs daemonized in the background.
Imo dhcpcd is a much nicer client than dhclient. Debian uses pump which i think is not nearly as good as dhcpcd. One reason you might want to use dhclient is that almost all unixes use it so you will have an easier time on other systems. dhcpcd is much sexier to work with though. |
