I'm trying to install ALSA with a via8233 integrated sound card.
Suse recognized it perfectly, but alsa in Gentoo does not.

My system does have two sound cards: the via8233 and a Sound Blaster 128 PCI. There is no problem with the SB, but I'm not able to make the via one to work.

I must say, also, that Red Hat is also not able to recognize it. Suse is the only distribution wich does. I've tryed to copy the configuration from SUSE in modules.conf, but it still does not work (only the SB works).

Someone may help me?

The alsa module for that is snd-via82xx.
