I recently decided to take the plunge and upgrade to a 2.6 kernel on my Ultra 5s. For the life of me, I cannot get either of them to detect the keyboard (type 5 or type 6) when running 2.6. Under 2.4, I can log in and do a dmesg and see that it has properly detected the keyboard on boot. Under 2.6, I have no such entries for the keyboard. It's really driving me mad.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might have missed in my kernel config?
And before anyone blames it on being the wrong map, it's not. None of the keys worked before or after I changed the KEYMAP="us".

Here is all I have in my .config for 2.6.14.2 on a U60+sun-type6 (or type5) for input devices:
Code: |
CONFIG_INPUT_KEYBOARD=y
CONFIG_KEYBOARD_ATKBD=m
CONFIG_KEYBOARD_SUNKBD=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSE=y
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2=m
CONFIG_MOUSE_SERIAL=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MISC=y
CONFIG_INPUT_SPARCSPKR=y
|
For me on this system, dmesg shows:
input: Sun Type 5 keyboard on su/serio1
Regards, |

Thanks! I'm at work but I'll check it against my config when I get home. |

No joy on 2.6.13. Will try and grab 2.6.14 tonight and give it a whirl. |

Make sure you change your keymap entry in /etc/conf.d/keymaps to something PC'ish like US instead of the Sun specific keymap that is in there now. 2.6 changed things around so that there only needs to be one set of keymaps on the command line. |
