hi there, i got the problem that my GLX disappeared 1 week ago...
i have a NVIDIA TNT2 PCI-32MB, this card was working for approx 6 months, but suddenly my GLX extensions are not working anymore. i tried ALL nvidia-kernels which are in portage right NOW the only 2 working kernels(startx is fine) are : 1.0.7174 & 1.0.7167-r1 but both without GLX
my GLX was working fine with nvidia-kernel-1.0.7174 + nvidia-glx-1.0.7174-r4 (i guess i lost GLX when updating to glx-1.0.7174-r5)
but r4 isnt in portage anymore, but i am not sure about it , thats the reason why i ask here for help... or any hint why my GLX is not working anymore...
i didnt change anything in xorg.conf
i didnt change or update the kernel
i didnt change any USEFLAG
thx a lot _________________ I do not have a Superman complex, for I am God not Superman

Hi Mgiese,
I am a newcomer to Nvidia card, but I have just used the stable version (nvidia-kernel-1.0.6629-r4 and nvidia-glx-1.0.6629-r6) for my MX420, and GLX works. I just had to use Code: | opengl-update nvidia | to have the glx with Nvidia.
If it does not work, check that there is still the in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
And last, try to unmerge the 1.0.7167-r1and to put the older one, to see if it works.

Have you updated the linux kernel recently? If so (or if you're not sure) double check that everything is set properly. |

GLX is loadet in xorg.conf !
and with 6629 i cant use my card in cause of graphic errors when X appears, just 7174 and 7167 are working fine here..
but thx was a try worth _________________ I do not have a Superman complex, for I am God not Superman
