|
|
I am running the modular Xorg, but a recent update required that I upgrade to portage 2.1_pre4. I tried to upgrade just portage, but I think it ended up doing a bunch of things at once, so I'm not sure if that caused problems. Anyway, when I try to run "emerge -avuND world" I get the following message:
Code: |
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating world dependencies /
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "=sys-devel/automake-1.5*" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- sys-devel/automake-1.5 (masked by: missing keyword)
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
(dependency required by "sys-devel/automake-wrapper-1-r1" [ebuild])
!!! Problem resolving dependencies for media-sound/alsa-utils
!!! Depgraph creation failed.

However, I can run "emerge -av automake", "emerge -av automake-wrapper" and "emerge -av alsa-utils" like they are and it works just fine. I'm kind of new to gentoo and portage, so I'm a little lost now. I tried adding "sys-devel/automake" to /etc/portage/package.keywords" and "sys-devel/automake-1.5*" to /etc/portage/package.unmask", but that didn't seem to help. Any ideas?
Here's the output of "emerge --info":

I still haven't worked this out. I tried removing alsa-utils "emerge -aC media-sound/alsa-utils", but that didn't work (gave the same error for a different package). Based on my "emerge --info" output (posted above), it looks like I actually have automake 1.5 installed. So I don't get why it's giving an error. "emerge -a automake-wrapper" works just fine, too. Is the problem with the portage dependency tree or something? If I delete the automake and automake-wrapper directories from /usr/portage/sys-devel/ will that kind of reset what portage knows about those builds? Sorry, like I said, I'm not very familiar with gentoo yet... |
