|
|
I have a portage question. I looked through "man emerge" and didn't find the answer, but it seems to me like something that should be available somehow...
The question is how can I get portage/emerge to list the files associated with an installed package. Portage definetly knows this as when one does an emerge unmerge <package> it deletes only the files associated with that package. Can I get portage/emerge to list the files installed for a particular package without unmerging or re-emerging? Is this information tucked away somewhere on the system? This has to be possible, I'm just not sure how.
Thanks!

You should look in "/var/db/pkg". _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |

Ah, so /var/db/pkg contains a list of everything installed sorted like the portage-tree. And in there a CONTENTS file that lists exactly what I was looking for. It is to bad that you can't issue an emerge command to get that information, but this will certainly do. Thanks for the tip!

I think there is an utility for that in the "gentoolkit" package. (qpkg). _________________ I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. |
