Is there anyway to convert HFS+ to any other format non-destructively? Either in Linux or OS X. I want to dump OS X as my TV box and throw linux on it (I only use the box to watch divx and play mp3s on my TV).

I'm not sure if you can (my instinct is to say no) but if you have it half empty (or have a lot of time on your hands) you can resize it and make a new linux partition, and then shift files over (either all at once, if you have enough free space, or in parts, if you dont have enough space).

details can be found: here

hope that helps...

Are you sure you need to convert? Linux can read hfs+ volumes.
