Hi all,
I have my home directory's mounted via NFS (not exported /home but exported the /home/user directories individual) also I am using NIS (YP) to have a single point of user-admin. Now when I start KDE (either from the prompt or via KDM) for non-local users (users who are defined on the NIS Server) starting KDE takes about 5 to 10 minuts...
It just stands there, third icon one the KDE-splash screen blinking, and then after a while (presumably) something times out, and it goes on, working perfectly...
Anyone encountered this before? I narrowed it down to an NIS/NFS problem because non-nis/nfs users on the machine don't have that problem.
Am I missing something here?
Gr.
