Audigy 2 and ALSA

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum and have installed the cvs drivers from sourceforge. The card works on my klipsch promedia 4.1 speakers, but in kde kmixer the only way to adjust the rear speakers is with the gain control. The master volume controls only the front speakers. Is this normal for Audigy users? I have not installed nor configured alsa and was wondering if this would help or hinder the drivers I already have installed.

Its the mixer program I use and it shows all mixer controls.
