Hi,
I'm in the process of installing on a sparc 20. The livecd kernel is 2.4 but I'll be installing 2.6.
I'd like to know if using hashed b-tree indexing (for 2.6 kernels) will confuse the 2.4 kernel
currently loaded...
Thanks,
ry

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Gentoo on Sparc.
ext2/3 has supported dir_index for some time. In both the 2.4 and 2.6 kernels afaik. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

Looks like I can build my partitions without -O dir_index and run tune2fs after the install is done.
Code: | # tune2fs -j -O dir_index /dev/hda3 |
