Hey all,
so this is more of a general question than a gentoo specific question. I have always heard that people can create their own paths through the internet making it hard for people to trace back to the originating computer. This is a little confusing to me because im not completely sure how this can completely work. Through my research i've come up with the possibility of sending a connection through several open proxies, and the terms tunneling and port forwarding come up. Under the context of ssh, port forwarding makes since but im still confused how this is truly possible or how you would even get it set up.
Any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Awesome thankyou,
Anyone know anything about creating "untraceable" paths through worldwide networks to another location? I'm more looking for just the theory than the actual commands and such, but i am looking for detailed theory.
thanks
