my kernel is 2.6.13-r5 and i compiled this with:

alsa guide.

i have emerged this packages:

when i open control center:>sound system:

unable tu start the sound server to retrieve possible sound i/o methods

only automatic detection will be available


and if i try to lunch xmms:

It looks like the module that you are trying to load wasn't compiled with the kernel you are actually running. I would recommend going back and recompiling your kernel modules to match the kernel that you are running.

i have and i used only kernel 2.6.13-r5....

i had already compiled the kernel very much

This could actually be your problem. You will have to recompile your separate alsa driver again after each time you recompile the kernel.
