I think i'm gonna crazy to finish my gentoo'home pc.
I'm trying to watch Dvd's with mplayer && xine, but i'm not able to listen with 7.1 sorround.
Only one speacker works
I really don't understand the mplayer & xine front-end audiosetup (Audiosurrond51.....)
My card is a Terratec 7.1 Aureon space *ICE1724* with latest alsa/driver alsa/tool alsa/lib (no kernel modules)
and Cretative speacker 7.1
I read in the forum something like alsascript to route the output sound of the sound card, but i think that the problem it could be related to a software configuration: eg. mplayer -channels 6 etc....
Any suggestion???

the 7.1 seems to work with mplayer and some dvd's..
For example "Lord of the rings ll" works fine with:

Hi mr_wolf,
as i can look, it seems to be xine relative as problem. You can configure xine with a 7.1 audio kit, but you should be master of the universe in order to have all the xine paramaters.
