maybe somebody knows whether such programs exists or not. it several words . i'm using gentoo @work and i use xlockmore for screen locking , but i don't like fancy screensavers, i'd like something, that just blocks any input unless user password is entered . any ideas ? |

Have you tried xtrlock (emerge xtrlock)? It's as simple as can be. The only thing wrong with it (to me, at least) is that it doesn't hide the windows, so everything can be seen (IMs and whatnot). Otherwise you could just use xscreensaver and have it blank the screen with no screensaver. |

next problem is to solve an issue w' Ctrl+Alt+Fn switching =) |

A possibility to work around that problem is to use XDM, GDM, KDM, or any other available display manager. With one of those you don't have to log into the console to start X and anyone who issues a Ctrl-Alt-Fn would just see the console login prompt. _________________ Instead of asking why a piece of software is using 1970s technology,
