Anyone able to use the owner match extension in iptables with this kernel? For example the following:

2.6.15 was released. People will debate how stable it is however.

Hmm, just got back...a few minutes ago, still pretty dizzy after 16 hours driving a car.

Will probably sleep until sometime tomorrow, and take me sane ammount of time to not break
anything major, also, maybe an old reiser4 from some ancient -mm kernel with a use-flag,
but i'm not sure if it's worth it....

You can expect something around this weekend.

Besides are the mm patches out yet for 2.6.15 ?

I couldnt wait and i tried out the gentoo sources, seems good with the CFQ scheduler, but they even got Deadline, Anticipatory and No-Op.. can anyone gimme a good page to read regarding the direct comaparison of these schedulers ?

I'm on a desktop envoirnment with 1gb ram, and 3.01GHZ pentium4..

The -mm patches aren't out for 2.6.15 yet. Andrew Morton keeps posting daily to the LKML, but he hasn't put out a new patchset yet.

I'm sure he will include Reiser4 support.

The latest Reiser4 patches released by Namesys and designed to be placed on top of the -mm tree, which already has basic Reiser4 support. So if you want the LATEST Reiser4, then you need to pull it from the -mm tree.

I think that is what he was debating.

It's not dangerous because it is only useable when you activate acpi.expermental = 1, so people using it should know what they are doing. And btw, the patch works great here.

And do you or anybody know about that sata patch? Because I read something that it will be in vannilla in 2.6.15, but it does not look like. More information here in the thinkwiki.

I hope you can include both of this patches in nitro! Especially the second one, because it is included in a Ubuntu Kernel for example as default.

will that patch only work for ibm? i have a cpu fan thats waaaay to loud 8000rpm that i would like to slow down to 3500. anyone have any deas? maybe a transistor in the + lead? the mother board dosent have fan control in the bios so thats out of the option. any thirdparty software that may work its a MSI P4MAM2-Vhttp://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=644

i know that patch is for only notebooks but i was wondering if their was anything simular for desktop, why the smart remark? will ACPI do anything for a fan?

I will try to follow all requests from this thread as closely as possible,
if any get forgotten or dropped in nitro1 we will try to get them into nitro2,

*.14-nitro2 is still running flawlessly on my systems so I've no problem if *.15-nitro1 will be released a bit later.

Please dont wear yourself down trying to produce a nitro for every single rc snapshot, especially if you have found other interests :wink:
