What difference? Any problems known with 4191? I noticed that it's masked in the portage tree, but it's the one I use, compiled from source from nvidia.com |

Since they seem to follow the numbering scheme of the Windows driver, it is safe to assume it provides
- Up to a 25% increase in performance
- Support for newer GeForce4 versions
- Minor bugfixes _________________ C is for Cookies! |

When i was using 3xxx, my system was never stable and i experienced very nasty random lockups. Switching to 4xxx solved all my gfx related problems, it runs like charm and i can play opengl games back again. |

4191 has lower 2d support, if any? not sure.. killed my terminal and was extreamly slow on any 2d rendering... but this is one of those things where it all depends.. it may run great on your machine and not so good on your other, never know till you try it _________________ # http://badsh.com

I've been running the 4191 drivers for a while now, and they have worked great. They have been much faster on UT2003, than the older drivers.
As far as slower 2d, I haven't noticed much difference.
btw...i'm also running x 4.3.0 |
