Hi, in the emu10k1-0.20a-r5 the audigy-script file is missing.
Before merging it, I have unmerged the previous version.
Now, they have removed all orther versions of the ebuild, and in this one the file is missing so its not possible to install sound anymore !?! |

This is all well and good, but if you don't have an audigy (like me ), the ebuild still won't work.
Does anyone have a workaround? |

Sorry, I misread your post and assumed because you were looking for audigy-script that you needed an audigy ebuild.
I think its time for me to upgrade my ebuild to support SBLive and Audigy cards seeing as whoever maintains emu10k1 in portage seems intent on screwing it up.
[edit]
You could help me in this by emerging pciutils and posting the output of running lspci. I have the output for an Audigy I just need it for a SBLive.
Thanks

HI there
Thanks for this great ebuild, which allows me to really use my audigy to its fullest
small problem (that I hacked around) which I don't know is my configuration or not
I follow the instructions on your webpage, but when i get to the modprobe bit it moans about 'a binary file'
(root@tcgent) modprobe emu10k1
sh: line 1: /usr/bin/audigy-script: cannot execute binary file
/lib/modules/2.4.20-ck4/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o: post-install emu10k1 failedmu10k1-tenpin-0.20a.tar.gz
/lib/modules/2.4.20-ck4/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o: insmod emu10k1 failed
my solution is to chmod 777 /usr/bin/audigy-script
after which it all plays nice, thanks

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
My eBuild doesn't put anything in /usr/bin/audigy-script. That is is left over on your machine from the old emu10k1 ebuild not uninstalling properly or something.
My eBuild puts audigy-script, live-script and emu10k1-script into /usr/sbin and makes them executable too.
Just delete /usr/bin/audigy-script and that should sort things out. |
