I'm using the wiki guide http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Xvnc_terminal_server
It worked!!! Well, until I the moment I got stuck on the infamous grey xdm screen.
But now every time i try to do:
Code: | $ vncviewer localhost:81 |
there comes an instant message from the VNC server.
Code: | vncviewer: VNC server closed connection |
I've been searching the web/forum for while now, but I haven't found a solution. I can't seem to pin down what is causing the problem. Any pointers would be helpful... tia. Need more info? Feel free to ask. _________________ i don't know what i want, but i want it now! |

the wiki
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Xvnc_terminal_server
has everything setup from nobody and when you try to do this from the user nobody:
Code: |
nobody@desktop /root $ vncviewer localhost:71
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
Error: Can't open display: :0.0
