I'm sure by now most everyone is aware of the U3 platform ( http://www.u3.com ), which is a joint venture of M-Systems and SanDisk?
The U3 specs are supposed to support running MS-Windows 2000 and MS-Windows XP applications on computers with MS-Windows operating systems.
Is there any support for Linux either as U3 applications or as host operating system? |

I'm having trouble figuring out what U3 actually is, theres a lot of buzz words on their site, but the picture I'm getting from it is it just stores your apps, and if they are 'U3 smart' they will also store their settings on the drive (I assume that means instead of in the windows registry).
You could install an entire Linux distribution and boot from it on a flash drive, so you have all the software and all of your documents and settings, on virtually any computer (any that can boot from a USB device). |
