I'm using xorg-x11-7.0-r1 in a MacBook Pro laptop. I would like to use
Code:
Option      "XkbModel" "macintosh"
Option      "XkbLayout" "us"
plus a "XkbVariant" which would give me deadkeys in the way I get them with my present configuration, which is:
Code:
        Option      "XkbModel" "pc105"
        Option      "XkbLayout" "us"
        Option      "XkbVariant" "intl"

Xorg's documentation doesn't give me a list of possible models, layouts and variants, and I was unable to find the rules/*.lst files they mention. Has anyone some info on that?

Besides having the xorg.conf info, any info on how to get the right config on the console would be also very useful.

[EDIT] Seems that editing .Xmodmap is the easiest way I suppose...

My ppc machine has the R_APPLE key as a compose button. Used in sequence, not combination, that can generate all sorts of symbols. You might prefer to have a combination available for certain letters. Use xmodmap to add or modify certain keys for that.

My biggest headache right now is getting XF86Eject mapped to the command 'eject -T' in Gnome or KDE. So simple doing that in any other WM. FVWM, Blackbox, WindowMaker, and Enlightenment all have simple configurations to map shell commands to keys.
