|
|
I was updating my system and realized that I'm running my machine with old profile
Code: | /etc/make.profile -> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2005.0 |
So should I change my profile to newer 2005.1 ?
Is there some benefits in that, do I get some newer versions of programs or what is the major differences in .0/.1 ?
And if I'm changing that, should I sync and update the system straight away ?
Edit : Maybe I'll add [solved] to subject, after all there was no problem at all

Depends on how you treat your system. If you update regularly. Or if you use a testing release: "~x86" or so, amost nothing will happen. A new profile will basically set the minimal package versions for your basesystem. |
