|
|
Well, the subject says it all.. I've been running Gentoo for a while now and I need to repartition a little. Seems like fdisk isn't installed but I can't seem to find a package containing it! The only thing I can think of is to boot from the installation CD and do fdisk from there - but surely there must be a port of at least fdisk and hopefully cfdisk too??
I'm pretty tired (almost can't see the screen so maybe the answer is self evident.. |

Stating the obvious:
I think fdisk is in package util-linux, well it should be, now internetting from friends house (aarrgggghh window$). It should be installed. it's in the directory /sbin/fdisk, I think, but maybe /usr/sbin. It's only accessible from root account for the obvious reason that's a dangerous tool.
Maybe this helps,
lX
ps: I can use fdisk and think even cfdisk from a standard install of gentoo (make system).
ps : it's not Fdisk /CFdisk but I think you now, your just tired. _________________ "Remember there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over.", Frank Zappa |

Thanks. Yes, I installed the package last night but missed the programs in the package listing. /sbin isn't in my root-path either, like it is in Mandrake so I thought the programs weren't installed..
Augh..still tired and now I've somehow managed to screw up my neck during the night..oooow..

It is. I think you need to do su - instead of just su. _________________ Postcount ++ |
