How do I get it to not install gnome-libs, gimp, gimp-print and the rest of the new packages?

also, I ran
Code:

overlord@rommel overlord $ qpkg -q mjpegtools
media-video/mjpegtools-1.6.0-r5
DEPENDED ON BY:
media-video/mjpegtools-1.6.0-r6
DEPENDED ON BY:
media-video/mjpegtools-1.6.0-r7
DEPENDED ON BY:
media-video/mjpegtools-1.6.1
DEPENDED ON BY:
So does that mean that it is not a dependency of anything? And if so, why does it want to install?
Any help would be appreciated.

It probably means mjpegtools is listed in /var/cache/edb/world. Remove it by hand in that case.

mjpeg tools is not in the world file, but i think that it is depended on by k3b. ghostscript seems to want the gimp and gnome stuff. qpkg -q doesnt seem to be very useful.

Check your USE flags too in /etc/make.conf. Sometimes, dependencies are created by the inclusion of USE flags. Unfortunately, I can't give you a clear-cut example in your case because I can't find the dependency path, but the ebuild file does depend on the flags X, cups, gnome and cjk. I wish there were a nice tool that could display an ebuild dependency graph...

It's the same here, and even USE="-gnome" doesn't help.
I realy don't want to install gimp gtk and gnome just for printing. gimp-print-cups should be enough to satisfy the dependancys!

I suppose this is a bug in the ghostscript ebuild.
