|
|
I emeged gnome 2.2.1 and I want to emerge mplayer now.
but when I run emerge -up mplayer
I got
gentoo portage # emerge -Up mplayer
>>> --upgradeonly implies --update... adding --update to options.
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild N ] media-libs/libungif-4.1.0.1b
[ebuild N ] media-sound/cdparanoia-3.9.8
[ebuild U ] media-libs/freetype-2.1.4 [2.1.3-r2]
[ebuild N ] dev-libs/libxml-1.8.17-r2
[ebuild U ] gnome-base/libglade-0.17-r6 [2.0.1]
[ebuild N ] gnome-base/gnome-common-1.2.4-r3
[ebuild N ] dev-util/indent-2.2.9
[ebuild N ] gnome-base/oaf-0.6.10
[ebuild N ] dev-util/guile-1.4.1
[ebuild U ] gnome-base/gconf-1.0.8-r4 [2.2.0]
[ebuild U ] gnome-base/gnome-vfs-1.0.5-r3 [2.2.4]
[ebuild U ] gnome-base/control-center-1.4.0.5-r1 [2.2.1]
[ebuild U ] gnome-base/gnome-panel-1.4.2-r2 [2.2.1]
[ebuild N ] media-sound/xmms-1.2.7-r19
[ebuild N ] media-video/mplayer-0.90
and i want to know will emerge downgrade gnome-vfs, control-center, gnome-panel and libglade?
or it let gnome 1.x and 2.x be toghter?
Thanks!! |

no these are slotted, meaning that multiple versions can coexist on the same system |
