could somebody please be so kind and let me know how to get back kde's default splash screen after installing the "liquid" theme? Thank you.

Ok, so this solution is a bit extreme, but I found that emerging kde-3.0.1 on top of 3.0 did the trick.
Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you'll find this documented at kde-look.org, because they offer alternate splash screens there as well. |

Well, I can tell you where the splash screens are stored:
/usr/kde/3/share/apps/ksplash/pics
I don't know if a backup of the old one is made or not whenever you install liquid. Why do you want the old one?? Just go to kdelook.org and grab youself a new one! I am personally using the Connectiva Penguins splash screen along with the Penguins "User Icons" (For KDM). I think it looks rather nice and gives my friends a chuckle when they see it.
