I have an internal nvidia network card, that I would like to use, because I only have 1 PCI slot and it's occupied by my RealTek Network card. So because I need to use an other (TV) PCI card sometimes, it would be nice if I could use the internal nvidia network adapter.
Sometimes it works with the forcedeth driver. Then I'm connected normally to the internet. But then after some time or after a reboot, it just stops working, no more DHCP response. When I unplug the computer for some minutes, it works again for some time. Very strange, what could cause this behaviour?
I use kernel 2.6.12-ck6 and the PC is a ShuttleX barebone. |

could be a hardware problem...i've used my built-in nvidia network adapter with the forcedeth driver with no problems with several different amd64 kernels. i'm wondering about that other network card in the pci slot...have you tried the nvidia adapter with the other one removed? |

Yes, I always remove the other network card, because I only have one PCI slot in my barebone PC. That's why it'd be nice to be able to use the internal one... |

ah. well...assuming you've tried the nvidia drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html (i.e. removed forcedeth from the kernel and used the appropriate nvnet driver) i can't think of anything else...sorry. forcedeth has always worked for me (although nvnet has worked too). |
