| What I confused is that I am emerging gnome over night and still work in progress for more than 8 hours. My PC configuration is Duron 950MHz, 512MB SDRAM and a 20G HD. Is it usual ? |

Yes.
My ancient p4 1.7ghz with 1 gb RAM takes 12 hours. |

Yes.

I have Duron 850, 384 RAM, 200Gb HD, and gnome compile 10 hours.
