Ho deciso di passare a gentoo anche sul mio portatile dopo aver convissuto (abbastanza male) con Debian per qualche anno.
Spulciando qua e là per il forum e per internet ho deciso di installare gentoo supporto per lvm2 e usando per alcune partizioni reiser4.
Il problema sta nel fatto che se uso il livecd 2005.0 ho il supporto per lvm2 ma non per reiser4 mentre se uso il livecd di lxnay (che ho trovato sul wiki di gentoo) ho il supporto per reiser4 ma non per lvm2.

Come posso per avere sia uno che l'altro :?: :?: :?:

C'e' per caso anche qualche cd ufficiale col supporto reiserfs4? Sento che il destino mi portera' a dover reinstallare il portatile (disco semi rotto) e pensavo di utilizzare questo fs.

Da quel che ho capito io leggendo su internet non esiste ancora nessun cd ufficiale in quanto reiser4 non è ancora stato testato a fondo. Il suo supporto nel livecd è previsto in un futuro prossimo ma non ti so dire quanto sia "prossimo" questo futuro.
L'unico cd che io ho trovato e che permette di creare partizioni reiser4 è quello lxnay.
Aspettando quindi una risposta resto nel dubbio: meglio privilegiare reiser4 oppure lvm2???

Visto che si tratta di un portatile dove non aggiungerai un secondo o un terzo disco, probabilmente lvm e' piu' uno sfizio che una necessita'

Oltre ad essere uno sfizio è anche una necessità visto che ho deciso di passare a Gentoo anche perchè nella mia vecchia Debian avevo esaurito le partizioni (lo ammetto, avevo uno schema probabilmente sballato!!).
Vorrei tenere usr, home, var, opt e tmp ognuna in una sua partizione però ho paura ad usare di nuovo partizioni "statiche" di incorrere di nuovo nello stesso problema

Il supporto per lvm2 nel livecd di lxnay è builtin nel kernel. Ecco spiegato perche non me lo caricava come modulo...

Per installare???
Pensavo di basarmi sul metodo jackass (https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-319349.html) visto che mi sono trovato bene sul fisso.
Per il resto cercherò di integrarlo con le varie modifiche per aggiungere il supporto lvm2 (c'è una guida su gentoo.org) e resiser4 (la guida del wiki)
