Hi there!
I've got a problem with my printer, it's a Hewlet Packard Deskjet 840C, plugged in via USB. It just doesn't work, although the node /dev/usb/lp0 exists...
here's what dmesg says:
Quote: | usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: Disabling reads from problem bidirectional printer on usblp0
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: USB Unidirectional printer dev 2 if 0 alt 1 proto 2 vid 0x03F0 pid 0x0604 |
thx in regard |

Hi baschni,
how would you like to print - this is an import information.
If you want to use it with cups (common for kde, also usable for open office) .
You should emerge the hpijs-package
Code: | USE="ppds foomaticdb" emerge hpijs |
These are the drivers especialy for HP-printers - they are realy good.
Hope that helps you a little bit. |
