Well, while i tried to to emerge giflib-4.1.0-r3, i get this error

its needed for emerging mod_php, so i cant get past this error Im also a newbie with gentoo linux, have been using linux for a year now ... oh and also my USE variables :

I've solved the problem.
At the end of the ebuild file you've got to add an "}"
After that the emerge will work..

Hi,
I got the same error but at line 516 with the message:
syntax error near unexpected token 'done'
line 516:' done'
this sucks big time because now i feel i am stuck |

Hi,
I Resolved it, it actually said that on line 516 there is an unexpected token 'done'. So after done I added a } and VOILA!!! It took me at least two hours to figure this out but hé I am a beginner but I learned a lot from it.
