Hi,
when I try to install new songs in my ipod mini, gtkpod hangs. I have used gtkpod without problems, and suddenly this problematic occurs. I have unmerged and emerge again gtkpod, but the problem is there.
I don´t know what happens.
Any suggestion?

Do you have an unusual setup? Do your logs reveal anything about the cause? I installed it yesterday and have had no problems. More intuitive than the iTunes that comes with it, I thought.

maybe it is the liberaries, if you updated the system. try either update gtkpod to unstable version
| Code: | | # echo "app-pda/gtkpod ~x86" >> /etc/portage/packages.keywords |
or try removing it (emerge unmerge gtkpod) , and reemerge it.

Suddenly occurred to me... I had problems with it hanging when I was trying to use 'itunes' and XP, and I ended up going to the Linux box & reinitializing the iPod by recreating all the directories. Also, make sure it is mounted, first.

Never used gnome, so I couldn't say what the difference might be. Glad it works. 
Perhaps it is now time to update the subj line to [solved]...?
