PostPosted: Fri Aug 26, 2005 2:32 pm    Post subject: USB Mouse not working.... Reply with quote

Hi all, i'm Running Gentoo 2005.1 with the latest Gentoo-Sources on my laptop, and i can't find my mouse.... i have a touchpad on here, and that is
working, but i can't figure out where my USB mouse is. in DMESG i can see it knows there's a USB mouse there, but i don't know where its linking it to (/dev/input/mice)

if anyone can help me with this, it would be great, here's my DMESG output...

Code:

What's in /dev/input? You don't have /dev/input/mouse0 or something?

err..... i did an ls in /dev/input i had:

event0
event1
event2
event3
js0
js1
js2
js3
mice
mouse0
mouse1
mouse3

when i ran

Code:

# cat /dev/input/mice

i only got my touchpad, mouse0 does nothing, mouse1 is my touchpad, and it says "no such file or directory for mouse3

BUT, i rebooted, and noticed mouse2 had appeard, and now its woking on both that and 'mice'

thanks anyway :)

Jay
