No. Just a US politics subforum. I don't mind other political threads on OTW.

There's always the chance to just ignore them. That's what I always do. There could be a politics filter though. So you could tag political topics accordingly and then filter them out.

Let's not categorize everything into oblivion. OTW is a disortanized dump for just about anything, and that's why we love it.

Moved from Off the Wall to Gentoo Forums Feedback.

Frankly, I think such a subforum will be useless. Politics crops up in many discussions pretty much regardless of the original topic and that would mean a lot of moving, splitting and/or merging of posts and threads. And that's not worth the effort in my opinion.

Keep it with Gentoo and leave politics to the ones who don't have any idea about it: the politicians ;-)

i'd like to see a new category, but there is always the question of what to do with old threads? yeah we could just ignore them, but that doesn't stop them from being necroed. we could move them, but that is too time consuming (considering we have threads dating back to 2003). plus there is the question of who would moderate it, seeing as most mods/admins don't care much for otw, a new (sub/)category would need a devoted person to watch over the trolls.

just my 2 cents.

OTW is intended to collect threads without a relationship to Gentoo, preferably still related to Linux. Political discussions and other topics are tolerated, yet not encouraged. Creating a subforum for any non-Gentoo specific topic however would encourage such discussions and is not going to happen. Maybe you should watch out for other forums if you're mainly interested in non Gentoo/Linux content.
