The only files you need are flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so.
But: This is whats in my mozilla and netscape, I'm not sure about phoenix (They do have some very special plugins and I haven't seen the "About Plug-ins" in the Help-Menu). |

Yes, normally it still work without ShockwaveFlash.class, I have phoenix and Flash works very fine with Phoenix.
To know if the installation of your plugins is ok, simply in the url line, write : about:plugins |

Maybe the ShockwaveFlash.class file is important, I can send you by mail this file if you want, but it strange, normally with the file include in the tarball of macromedia, all will be ok.
Also, you can edit the installer script of macromedia and modify PATH (/usr/lib/mozilla by /usr/lib/phoenix). |

that would be cool if you could email it to me. i was looking at the script, and it only copies the .so and .xpt files so does it really need it? |

I have send you a PM, so check it
Maybe it's a problem of file rights ?
In my case I have : Code: | -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1464736 Jan 13 04:08 libflashplayer.so
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 856 Jan 13 04:08 flashplayer.xpt |
If that can help you ! |

A quick question, do you guys get a black border around the left and top edges of flash in pheonix? This doesn't happen when I use mozilla (I use the CVS phoenix). Also flash in mozilla is much more smooth than pheonix. I just firgured it was phoenix stuff in development, but maybe I'm wrong. |

As far as flash not being very smooth in phoenix, I am experiencing the same issue. Flash seems to cause serious system lag if I have more than a few windows open with it, an issue I dont experience with XP. I wish I knew what was causing it, I should see if I have the same issue with mozilla. _________________ Linux n00b, beware! |

I can't tell you if I'm experiencing this issue, because I don't use MS based OS and also I don't use Mozilla... So I can't compare. |

Im a recent convert, but I would never go back .
What browser do you run DuF? I love phoenix but not being able to use flash is annoying . Perhaps I can try mozilla, does anyone know if it is as fast as phoenix? _________________ Linux n00b, beware! |

DuF: I'm confused, I'm not running a MS based OS either. I'm using gentoo and pheonix and mozilla both which can use the macromedia flash 6 linux plugin. |

I don't think that it's about the "emerge netscape-flash" but it's about the flash-installer from macromedia ! |

Well, I've emerged netscape-flash and set links from the installed files
Code: |
cd /usr/lib/phoenix/plugins
ln -s /opt/netscape/plugins/* .
|
That's all I had to do and flash is running in my phoenix. |
