Сканер подключен к USB.
В ядре включены OHCI, UHCI, EHCI.
В group - я себя добавил в scanner и usb.
MAKEDEV usb делал - та-же фигня.

Если попробовать scanimage -L

А надо ли MAKEDEV делать?
UDEV-ов нет никаких?
Это вопрос немного в воздух, т.к. настороить можно как угодно.

Но главное. что говорит:
1) dmesg
(после втыкания)
2) lsmod
3) lsusb

Вот это уже СОВСЕМ интересно!

Забыл сказать - Генту 2005.1, керлен 2.6.12-р6 UHCI EHCI - модули, поддержка usb есть, сканер втыкнут в usb порт и ключен в сеть, из под винды сканирует

все действия выполняю под рутом.

У теяб походу, кроме мышки ничего нет в USB :)

Сделай еще так:

# tail -n0 -f /var/log/messages

Потом воткни сканер и посмотри, что пишет!
