Okay at first I thought there was something wrong with the FTP protocol or something because I couldn't get gftp to download through my SOCKS v5 proxy, then Igloo FTP wouldn't work either... now I'm becoming suspicious.
Now Iv'e installed gaim and amsn and neither will work with either my squid proxy OR my SOCKS proxy...
Konq WILL work with squid but NOT SOCKS...
ie:I'm not able to download FTP data in ANY application.
Is there something I need to configure or install to get "SOCKS v5 support" |

Just by curiosity, what socks proxy are you using? I would like to install one 
Is it possible to configure squid to act like a socks proxy? |
