|
|
I am really desperate to get freeNX working but I must say that I am having serious problems. I do not seem to be having problems with the authorisation like other people but with the client.
I have been trying to get xfce4 working on it and the closest I have got is just a black screen.
I have reinstalled the relevant packages a number of times.
The problem now is that everytime I start nxclient X.org freezes. One can move the mouse pointer but the input whether from the mouse or the keyboard is not accepted.
ANy ideas what the problem is or how to fix it?
Thanks |

Have you looked at HOWTO FreeNX Server from the Gentoo-Wiki?
Are you able to ssh into the machine, or is it completely dead ?
If you are, anything in the logs ? Any run-away processes ? _________________ All reality is the construct of the observer.

Yes I have looked at those HOWTOs but thanks for that. I have now made advancements: There is no problem with the authorisation I am sure, basically if I "ssh -X" from another machine I can run the nxclient and then throuh it get xfce4! So I am sure it is working now. The only problem is that nxclient if run on my machine freezes my entire Xwindows, but I think that is the problem seen here https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-334436.html, but it does it in a reliable manner.
No logs I am afraid, but I may ssh into the machine and see if I can get them when I do it.
Now if only I could get the pesky Mac client working! |
