I tried to use it and I tried to do without it.
No matter what it just doesn't work.Either the passwords are gone next time I need them or at max one week later.
Disabling the damned thing doesn't do any good in the long run either.
In short - the most fschking obnoxious piece of software I ever encountered - and that includes ALL VERSIONS OF WINDOWS.
You can't really disable it and if you try it doesn't work for about two hours and then screws you again - cool.
Got back to writing everything up until I figure out another desktop.
Whoever allowed a piece of shit like that in an area (passwords) like that got to be braindamaged - don't even want to think about how security is handeled if the damned thing can't remember a thing - uups - there come the Authorisathion Dialog of Kmail again.Like I didn't tell the &^%#$%^ thing to store passwords in the config file.Worked for a day anyway.
Don't expect an anwer to an answer to this post - my 8*&% email doesn't work!!! |

I have have never had a problem with kwallet, it's worked like a charm for me ever since is was introduced.
If you actually want some help you should post something specific about the problems you're having, if not this should probably have gone in Off The Wall...

I just discovered that KWallet wasn't my problem, only its symptom. I had FS issues and kio_slaves werent working well so I'm rebuilding kdelibs hoping that it will fix everything. Still, If kdewallet had reported the bugs properly, rather than not doing what I expected it to do and just sit there, maybe I would have found what the problem was sooner and not posted this message.
But then again, proper error reporting is hard to get right all the time...
I'm sorry for this quick outburst of anger. I retract my assertion that KWallet sucks. Although it's true that it _could_ be done differently... _________________ Act safely, think dangerously. |
