|
|
I have a relatively stupid and simple question that was possibly addressed in the forums but I cannot locate it. I have Gentoo RC2 installed in my desktop but I cannot get my scsi cdrom nor scsi cdrw working. I have SCSI Adaptect 2940 card (Bios v.1.34.3) connected to a Toshiba cdrom drive and a Yamaha cdrw drive. I compiled the latest kernel with the scsi options (no modules) but cdrecord -scanbus does not recognize it.
Does anyone have any step by step approach to getting scsi cdroms and cdrs recognized under Gentoo?
Thanks,
Jonathan |

Did you remember to compile the low-level scsi drivers for your card?

do you see the drives detected on bootup? I.e. does the output of your dmesg see them? _________________ Everyone has something clever for a signature but me. |
