I installed Apache, PHP, MySQL and Mediawiki and downloaded a Wikipedia Database-Dump.
After following the Apache and PHP Guide from the gentoo-wiki I can go to my local mediawiki site, but its just a empty Wiki.
I can also go to my local phpmyadmin site where i can look at the Databases i have.
But i have no clue what to do with the SQL-File and where the Wikipedia (not just the empty Wiki) is supposed to be.
I did a | Code: |
mysql -u root -ppassword wikidb < cur_table.sql |
but i get the prompt back after 1 second which seems wrong since the file is very large.
Looking at the wikidb in phpmyadmin also shows only a few hundred kb of size.
Can anyone give me some picture of what i am supposed to do?

Yes i have a wikidb.
But i think my question is, when i created a db, and when i did | Code: | | mysql -u root -ppassword wikidb < cur_blabla.sql |
where is the local Wikipedia supposed to be then?
When i go /var/www/../mediawiki there still is only the empy mediawiki site.
Is this correct?

The sql-file was broken, i have the wikipedia running now  |
