Got a question...
Got Gentoo 1.4 and WinXP installed on my machine.
Windows is installed in hda1
And Linux got a few partition in hda5 to 7. And I have 2 other partitions
for windows hda8 and 9.
I wonder, is it possible to resize my hda7 partition using Partition Magic latest version.
hda7 is my / partition and running out of space now... My partition is 8gig, and I'm using like 7 gigs now. So can i resize my hda8 and hda7, so that I can make hda7 a bit larger without any losse of data ?
I know its possible to do this safely in windows, but what about mixing up Windows and Linux partitions ? Anyone have done this before ? Any success ?
Thanks! |

First you would need to shrink hda8 but then you can just expand the hda7 partition without too much trouble.
I know you can do this in parted which is where I would feel more comfortable since I wouldn't trust partition magic but it will probably work.

I love parted but i recomend that you make a good plan before you touch anything or you will lose time. For this plan, take into account the limitations of each filesystem and which operations can parted do with them (f.i. when installed mandrake, parted couldn't move the beginning of a ext2 partition IIRC) _________________ I am Beta, don't expect correct behaviour from me.
