|
|
Hello,
with Cedega I finally succeeded in getting GTA4 occasionally working in Linux, but
as expected with a huge framedrop.
With wine (unpatched) it doesn't work of course.
Has anybody succeeded in getting GTA4 to work with wine + this directx patches (http://directxwine.sourceforge.net/)?
How is the performance difference?
Thanks for answers, if wine + dx patch is really so good I might install it.
Bye,

Apparently the dx9 patches have already been included into WINEs cvs. So if you have wine-20050628 installed I think you should have those patches. Don't quote me on that though. =)

From what i'm aware of, they've started to integrate the DX9 patches into wine CVS, but its not finished |

the script never works for me for some reason...I always have to download and do everything manually. |

I would say it's the least bad solution
Thanks for your responses, I will wait some time and try wine-cvs later |

This is indeed the case. The DX9 patches are getting merged into CVS at a relatively rapid pace now, though this isn't complete yet. You can read about it in Wine Weekly News. They've had writeups on the DX9 merges for a few weeks now (excluding last week). |
